Personal Leadership Model Overview – How you lead affects your personal circle of influence, your work team, and the organization where you are employed. The impact you have on your environment is significant and should never be underestimated. As a leader, awareness and understanding of the impact you have on other people and your organization should be a key driver of how you lead, behave, and interact with others on a day-to-day basis. Building your personal leadership model involves first studying leadership theory and its evolution. It is important to understand and be able to discuss and explain what key theorists and models are teaching you about leadership. We learn from others, and we learn from studying the past. The next step in building your model involves introspection and personal assessment of your strengths, personal growth areas, how you are wired, and how you relate to yourself, others, and the culture where you engage. Development of your model is an extensive exercise that requires critical thinking, data analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Personal Leadership Model Components-

1. Background / Leadership Foundation

o Explain key leadership theories and components of those theories that have influenced your personal leadership model.

2. Personal Assessment Findings and Conclusions.

o Discuss your self-assessment results, assess and evaluate the data, and make conclusions that drive your own personal leadership model.

3. Your Personal Leadership Model.

o Include in your model your vision and values. Include how the model will have real life interactions for you as a healthcare leader. Components of several leadership theories / theorists including the Dynamic Cultural Leadership Model, Clifton StrengthFinders and your personal Enneagram results must be included in your paper.

4. Leadership Development Plan

o Complete and include a one-page Leadership Development Plan that you will implement based on your personal leadership model

o The single page Leadership Development Plan should be in a table format and list out activities to develop your leadership skills over the next 12 months. A Template is included in the Getting Started module.

5. References / Sources

o References beyond the textbook must be included. A minimum of 8 professional, peer reviewed resources beyond your classroom materials, assessments, and textbook must be utilized.

Personal Leadership Model Deliverable Guidelines

The final deliverables are a 7 to 10 page paper not including a cover page or reference page and a recorded PowerPoint presentation. The paper should be submitted using 12-point Arial font. Both deliverables should include your Leadership Development Plan. 2. Include in your paper a Reference Page and properly cite in your paper 8 references beyond assessments, and textbook( Leadership for Health Professionals by Gerald R Ledlow, Thomas Maryon, and Michele Bosworth). 3. The paper must be in APA format. All Figures and tables including your Leadership Development Plan must be in APA format.
