An inclusive workplace has been defined as that in which people of all identities and different styles are able to fully themselves while at the same time contributing to the larger collective as valued members (Qasim et al., 2022). Inclusive policies include valuing diversity in hiring, academic promotion, and tenure decisions. Organization with inclusive LGBT policies therefore outperform competitors with less inclusive policies because they are able to recruit and retain top talent. Such organizations perform well because all employees feel welcomes, respected, and represented fully (Qasim et al., 2022). In addition, such employees support and value their employees irrespective of their differences to fully participate. Therefore, organizations with inclusive LGBT policies are able to hire different people including members of the LGBT who feel supported and values. Hence, they perform their roles in an effective manner because they feel as part of the organization.

Further, the inclusive policies provides a platform of hiring people with different talents and competencies that they can then bring on board to make an organization to outperform competitors. Organizations that have inclusive policies also uplift talent by creating conditions that allow employees to maximize on their potential (Mullin et al., 2021). When employees maximize on their potential, they are then able to contribute to the organization and their teams. In addition, they become innovative, creative, and collaborate with other employees to achieve the goals of the organization. On the other hand, organizations that do not have inclusive policies will discriminate upon the existing LGBT employees and fail to hire them. They therefore miss out on hiring people with good talent that can contribute to their organization. This can significantly affect their performance because even the existing LGBT employees will feel that they are not part of the organization and therefore fail to perform effectively.

Organizations with inclusive policies also have inclusive leadership. According to research, inclusive leadership enables employees to work freely and contribute in decision-making (Qasim et al., 2022). Inclusive leaders also acknowledge the worth of their employees, offer assistance and guidance, and comprehend their requirements. This means that everyone works in a collaborative way in achieving the company’s goals. Therefore, such organizations are therefore able to outperform their competitors financially.
