  • Create an “Introduction” section. In the first paragraph of this introduction, briefly describe the purpose of this assignment.

      • Write out the equation for Dalton’s law and Explain what is Dalton’s Law (write this out in your own words as though you might be trying to explain it to a friend).
      • How is Dalton’s law and gas proportion are affected under pressure?
      • Will all gas proportions stay the same or change?
      • How does Dalton’s law affect the body when scuba diver descends into the ocean?Does percentage stay the same?Does amount stay the same?

    Chapter 8 – Role of Gas Laws and Breathing

    • Chapter 9 – Role of Gas Laws and Breathing – Henry’s Law. Henry’s Law applies at the Tissue/Alveoli level of Respiratory system.
    • Chapter 9 – Electrolytes in Body Fluids Calculations:Electrolytes in your body are minerals that have an electric charge. Sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphate and chloride are electrolytes. They important in that they help keep in balance the amount of water in and acid/base (pH) level in your body. You get electrolytes from foods you eat and the fluids you drink. However, the levels of electrolytes in your body can become too low or too high then you need treatment to help bring it back into balance. One treatment is providing Intravenous (IV) Solutions.
      • Choose one of the following ions: Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphate and Chloride.
        • Research and report the ionic charge and the normal Blood Plasma concentration (mEq/L) of the ion.(Hint: this is a good website to start).
        • Research and explain at least one kind of disease and/or deficiency that would happen if the concentration of ion was higher or low than normal.
      • Calculate the Body Fluids: Review Chapter 9 and Show all mathematical steps in calculations. (make sure to type this)
        • Patient’s Blood had 0.0026 g/dL of Magnesium
          • What is this value in milliequivalents per liter?
          • According to Table 9.6, is this value above, below or normal range? (write out your comparison to this value in a full sentence)
